The building process begins long before any building is actually done. Before there is broken ground, scaffolding erected, or the first brick laid, there is much planning that takes place to ensure that the project has a solid foundation. This is what we call the pre-construction phase, and it’s something we take seriously at Encompass Building Group.
Century 21 Real Estate Consultants partnered with Encompass Building Group and Urban Architectural Group to create a unique, industrial feel to their new office located in Toringdon at Johnston Road and I-485 in the "Doctors" building on Copper Way. As you enter the front door you'll get an immediate sense of openness and that "raw" industrial feel coupled with a clean and crisp color palette that brings light even on the rainiest of days! Encompass completed the 2,400 sq. ft. space in less than 60 days, despite encountering holiday seasons, delivering a successful turnover on time and on budget to another satisfied client!
Why do we take it so seriously? In part because we are passionate about capturing the vision of each client, and providing them with a finished product that meets their exact specifications. The only way we can make that happen is to be meticulous in sitting down with every client and talking about what they want to see; making plans, reviewing, revising, and ensuring that everything is ready for a successful project.
We also take pre-construction planning seriously because we know that it will ultimately make the building stage go that much more smoothly. By doing as much legwork as possible on the front end, our team can minimize disruptions and setbacks during the construction stage, helping us to ensure that we complete our work on time and under budget, all the while exceeding all expectations for quality, safety, and professionalism.
What Pre-Construction Planning Entails
To put it most succinctly, pre-construction planning is where we ensure that we’re on the same page with the client, and that we have everything lined up for a successful project. Pre-construction planning includes each of the following key components:
All in all, the process can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months, simply depending on the size and complexity of the project—but once pre-construction planning is complete, we are ready to assemble the perfect team to get construction underway!
There are a few different ways in which we accomplish our goal. We put a heavy emphasis on listening, and we don’t begin any kind of work until we’ve truly connected with the client on the design of the building. Communication is big with us, and we strive to provide timely and specific updates as regularly as the client cares to receive them.
What ultimately sets us apart is our passion. We are truly enthusiastic about serving clients and helping them turn their vision into a concrete reality. That enthusiasm radiates through our culture and extends to all our team members—and we hope it will be completely evident when you meet with us to discuss how Encompass can address your needs.
